To begin with, Christopher Marlowe lived during the Renaissance era. He was born in England in the year 1564 and died 1593, and was one of the most successful drama writers of his time and wrote mostly scripts that would be performed in theaters later on. Through his work like “The Jew of Malta”, “Tamburlaine the Great” and “Edward the Second” he earned his title. Marlowe was also born in the same year as Shakespeare and because of this there was a bit of rivalry between the two, but of course in a good way, because of the influence they both had on each other. Marlowe’s main job was as an “Elizabethan tragedian” which is basically just a British scriptwriter within theatre.
Marlowe’s life ended abruptly at the age of 29 in a violent pub brawl. It is unknown why Marlowe died, if it was just a coincidence or if there was a motive to killing him. Some say he was killed because he was a spy and others say it was because he was suspected to be a homosexual, but no one really knows.
