The last renaissance man
John Milton was born in London on December 9(1608). He wasn’t poor or rich. He lived in a middle class family. He studied in St. Paul’s school, then at Christ’s college at Cambridge. He began to write poetry. He was really good at it. He wrote poetry in Latin, Italian and English. He prepared to enter as a priest. He abandoned the plan to join the “priesthood” he then spent 6 years in his father’s country home in Buchinghamshire.
He studied there to prepare a carrier as a poet. Year 1642 he married to a woman called Mary Powell. They had four children together. Three of them died at young age. His vision got worst each year that past. Year 1652 his wife died and Milton became totally blind at that year. He then married with a woman that called Catherine Woodcock in 1656. She died already in year 1658. He married totally three times. The last time was at 1662. She called Elizabeth Minshull. They lived together over fifty year. His biggest success was a poem that’s called Pradadise Lost. The first version, published in 1667, consisted of ten books with over ten thousand lines of verse. He wrote about Satan and Hell, Milton also raised the question about Adam and Eva.
